I began my psychotherapeutic work after years of working with adolescents in various settings including wilderness therapy centers and the NYC public school system. Through my academic and professional journey, I discovered the therapeutic power of a profound relationship, as well as a passion for social justice and holistic healing.
Some of the clients that I have worked with have faced:
Feeling a loss of control over their own lives
Significant childhood trauma
Relationship struggles
Feeling constantly on edge or on high alert
Feeling disconnected from the people they love or the things they used to love to do
My therapeutic approach is holistic. My tools are often grounded in attachment and relational theories, I integrate modalities I have been trained in such as: EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, and parts work
I believe that my role as a therapist is to act as an empathetic and authentic guide on a journey towards inner-awareness, balance, empowerment, and personal fulfillment. My belief is that we all have the capacity to self-heal.
“The force of [the healer] is within everyone… it is said that this is the source of all suffering and dis-ease. The [self]- healer’s mission then becomes to move through the comfort of forgetting, through the veils of ignorance and denial to reveal the radiance that already exists. The self- healer approaches this in multiple ways, from multiple angles, knowing the cycle of healing is not linear-it is a multilayered and circuitous process, leading back to its own origin,..The wounded [self]- healer is someone who courageously continues to break open the self and ego as a means of deep integration.” — Kranz, 2019
